Dedicated to visitors of all ages, the 16th edition of Bucharest Christmas Market will have two areas destinated to season music. In the traditional area there will be Christmas carols and Romanian customs, choirs and children groups, instrumental recitals, as well as folk ensembles of minorities and national communities, whereas in the second area there will be DJ sets vibing on international rhythms of the most popular winter season songs. The official opening on November 30th,  Romanian National Day, Saint Nicholas, Christmas Eve and the two Christmas days, as well as the weekends during the fair will be celebrated through concerts held by folk ensembles, popular artists, beloved bands, and through special dedicated activities organized together with different partners of Bucharest Christmas Market.

Throughout the entire event, the ambiental music will be covered by Magic FM, the radio with the most listeners during winter holidays, broadcasting the Christmas spirit.

Weekends will be reserved for magic and joy, with a selection of theater shows especially created for children, which will take place on the fair’s stage, starting with 12 AM. From classical stories to adventures and beloved characters, the shows will carry the kids at fairy worlds, full of surprises.

Activities for children

Already a tradition for children who know and love it, Santa’s Cottage puts on view every detail of the tale of this holiday’s international symbol. With a surface of over 100 sqm, decorated and hand-painted in order to depict the magical world of Santa, the space invites the children throughout the entire event to express in words, drawings and letters their most sincere wishes, in the presence of the elves. In the first weeks, the children can attend creative workshops where they can make their own decorations and ornaments. Starting from Friday, December 15th, Santa Clause will arrive at the cottage in order to meet the children daily, to listen to them and tell them stories about all the Christmas miracles. On Christmas Eve, Santa will go put the gifts under the tree for children all over the world.

The carousel in Constitution Square will also be an unforgettable attraction, bringing smiles and fun. The winter characters, the sound of the merry songs and the smooth movements will carry children to a fairy universe.

Activities for the entire family

The Ferris wheel will offer the visitors a unique perspective of the event and of the city, as they can admire, from above, the Christmas lights, the festive chalets and the fabulous Christmas tree, decorated with golden stars, garlands and thousands of Christmas globes.

Placed right in the middle of the Christmas Market, the themed train will also offer a fascinating view, within a fairytale trip.

The mascots and animators on stilts, dressed in dazzling costumes will interact and be photographed with the public, bringing the Christmas joy to everyone.
